Claire Bissell has served as Executive Director of the Longview Arboretum & Nature Center since January 2025. She has more than 30 years of nonprofit experience, with a strong background in finance, accounting, organizational management, and strategic planning.
Prior to joining the Arboretum, Claire served as Executive Director of the National American Rose Society, headquartered in Shreveport, Louisiana. Throughout her career, she has been passionate about helping nonprofit organizations strengthen their operations, expand community impact, and achieve long-term sustainability.
A Louisiana native, Claire and her husband, Tim, are enjoying their new life in Texas and are proud to call Longview home. They are the parents of two grown children and one spoiled beagle named Misty. In her free time, Claire enjoys spending time with family, boating, reading and exploring the outdoors.
